The treatment consists of simple injections using treated patient's Autologous Tissue and bio-ingredients, used to thicken the scalp and form new vessels, so hair follicles can receive sufficient nutrition. The HCell procedure prevents the hair from falling out easily, making the hair return to its normal cycle. It also thickens the new growing hairs by rejuvenating the multiple hairs within hair follicles which cease to sprout during hair loss. This is achieved through enhancing vascularity, anastomosis and neovascularization. It takes more than 1 to 2 months to create new vessels to carry nutrition to the scalp.
We like to explain it as soil/ crop. The soil representative of the scalp, and the crop as hair follicles:
The problem is there are emptied hair follicles. By adding nutrients (proprietary blend of commercially procured biologic and autologous tissue), we create a healthy, and ideal thicker soil (through Neovascularization and Anastomosis) for crops to grow. Will this treatment interfere or negatively impact with future drugs/treatments?

The results will be visible to the naked eye 9 months after the last injection. Though, sometimes individual patients display clear hair density improvement in 3-5 months.
3 months from the last injection: We cannot see any changes on the naked eye but we can observe on the zoomed in view (10x- 30x). New tiny hairs, thickened hair are shown as there will be more than one hair on each follicle.
9 months from the last injection: We start to progressively see a vast difference, and you can begin to see changes with the naked eye.
18 months from the last injection: There is an obvious difference to the naked eye, and continuous improvement long afterwards.
So, why does it takes so long?
It takes more than 1 to 2 months to create new vessels to carry nutrition to the follicles. The hair grows 1cm per month normally, and to the naked eye, we can only detect changes when the hair grows more than 6 to 7 centimeters. In total, it naturally takes more than 9 months to see the visible new hairs.
However, with this being said, there is no need for an additional re- treatment of as patients’ hair does not fall out, and their hair is preserved.

We understand how valuable our patient's time, and hard earned money are- that is why as the number of our overseas consultation patients arise, we have become very highly selective of our patients. We strive to communicate with our patients what the results will be versus what the expectation would be to minimize any confusion. We are honest and transparent about what our treatment can and cannot do.
Please note that there is currently a two week wait list for Dr. Lim's treatment. As our number of overseas patients arise, we ask our patients to stay in Korea for a minimum of two days as we would like to monitor and make sure the patients are fully capable and comfortable with the treatment before leaving the country.

What is a step by step procedure of this treatment?
Our treatment will not, or does not interfere or negatively impact with drugs or treatments you may wish to take/ will take in the future. However, patients who have stopped their oral alopecia oral medication have experienced what is called a 'shedding phenomenon'- this happens when an alopecia medication is stopped immediately before the treatment. Once the oral drug is stopped, the results from the drugs stop too. If you would like to reduce the phenomenon, our oral medication tapering method after the treatment would be helpful.
The step by step procedure of the treatment is:
1) Topical Anaesthesia
2) Injection to the scalp (1 hour)
3) Injection is conducted 3-6 weeks apart for a total of three times *
Please avoid any hair products or shampooing for at least 24 hours after the treatment. (Water showers are allowed)
* For any outcome, all three injections must be conducted. There will be no results without the full treatment; as it is the combination of three injections that creates an affirmative result.
